Scheduling Appointments
How you
can fit orthodontics into a busy schedule.
We
value your time and realize you have other important obligations during the
day, usually school or work. We would
like to see our patients, on average, every 6 weeks during active
treatment. Those under observation are
often seen at 6-month or 1-year intervals.
At
each appointment, our goal is to have adequate time to do the necessary
procedures as well as to update you on your treatment progress and
hygiene. By arriving on time with
minimal bracket breakage (by staying away from the wrong foods), we can meet
our common goal of efficient treatment with a minimum of lengthy appointments.
If
you prefer all morning appointments, that can be arranged, however, to be fair
to all of our patients, we cannot provide you with all afternoon
appointments. We ask that you consider
some morning appointments during your time in active treatment.
Rescheduling Appointments
To
avoid extending treatment time, we ask that you give us a call as soon as
possible after a missed appointment.
Often a patient can be seen sooner if the rescheduled appointment is
made for the morning.
Family Care
When
a patient becomes a part of our practice, we feel a responsibility to the
entire family. An initial exam by age 7
is ideal. Early treatment will often
minimize or eliminate future orthodontic problems and maximize the eventual
treatment results.
Treatment
of parents should not be ignored. Some
of us have never had the benefit of needed orthodontic treatment and some have
experienced relapse from a prior orthodontic result. Dr. Damon can show you how he would correct
and maintain the function and alignment of your teeth.
Please
remember, all consultations are for your information with no obligation.
