Your First Visit
Your first visit is called our New Patient Exam. A few photos, a simple x-ray where the machine spins around you, and open wide so Dr. Damon can have a look. Our goals will be to:
- Obtain a medical and dental history
- Take a panoramic x-ray and a series of digital photos to help diagnose any concerns
- Complete a comprehensive orthodontic examination to determine any orthodontic needs
- Prescribe further orthodontic records (x-rays, study models) that may be needed for a more thorough understanding of the orthodontic problem
- Follow up on whatever records or treatment plan you need and to which you agree
| Remember, your first visit is primarily to obtain information about you.
Dr. Damon will carefully explain any problems and the orthodontic solutions in terms that are easy to understand. He takes pride in being a good teacher.
Your first visit is complimentary and there is no charge for any records taken. If treatment is recommended, there is no obligation to make an instant decision. You may need some time to talk it over. With the photos and diagrams we give you, the basic characteristics of your bite and tooth alignment can be shared at home. |
Regular Appointments
The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes from one to two hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 40 minutes. We make every effort to be on time for our patients. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible.
Cost
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets. To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months. For your convenience, we accept payment by VISA and MASTERCARD. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans, and file the necessary papers to the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.
Insurance
If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available. We ask that you assign your insurance benefit to us. The balance will be arranged for you to pay. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
